With this new space the label is able to attract more customers and it also serves as support for the boutique located in the new area of the top floor of the Centre. The firm has come to the Costa del Sol thanks to the Sakata Jewellery Group of Gibraltar, which increases its presence around the coastal area. In addition, the jewellery company expects to open another Swarovski boutique in 2007 at Gibraltar Airport. Swarovski is the biggest manufacturer of cut glass in the world. Founded in 1895 by Daniel Swarovski in Wattens (Austria), it is now run by the fourth and fifth generations of the family. It is present all over the world with a total of 14,257 employees whose work helped the group achieve a turnover of 1,680 million euros in 2003. Currently, their main products -glass stones- are used in fashion industries, costume jewellery, lighting, interior design and cosmetics. Since the 1970s Swarovski’s gift, collection, decoration and costume items have occupied a prominent position in the market. Consolidation in the luxury market was achieved through design and costume jewellery products. The company also manufactures precision optical instruments, abrasive tools and other industrial products. Con este nuevo espacio la marca logra captar un mayor número de clientes y, además, sirve de apoyo a la boutique situada en la zona nueva en la planta alta del Centro. Esta marca ha llegado a la Costa del Sol de la mano del Grupo Joyero Sakata de Gibraltar, que de esta forma amplía su presencia en el litoral. Además, esta empresa joyera tiene previsto abrir en 2007 otra boutique Swarovski en el aeropuerto de Gibraltar. Swarovski es el mayor fabricante del mundo de cristal tallado. Está presente en todo el mundo, con un total de 14.257 empleados, que con su trabajo lograron alcanzar en 2003 una facturación consolidada del grupo de 1.680 millones de euros. En la actualidad, el producto base -las piedras de cristal- se utiliza en las industrias de la moda, la bisutería, la iluminación, el diseño de interiores y de la cosmética. Desde los años 70 los artículos de regalo, de colección, de decoración y de bisutería de Swarovski se han hecho con una destacada posición en el mercado.
