| Origins The business was founded by the late Joseph (Pepe) Holliday on 29th June 1960. The original pearl farm from which Pepe first imported Cultured Pearls was called Sakata in Japan. It was from this pearl farm that the company name was born. Trading first from a small shop in Irish Town the business grew and through the years has become synonymous with pearls. The business at this stage was focused on two areas - Cultured Pearls and a personal, friendly service.
